
Similarly, a number of such speakers and religious scholars belonging to other province, have been barred from entering Sindh, a notification issued late Thursday night stated. It explained that the Sindh Government had taken the step keeping in view the prevailing law and order situation in the province. It added that it was important to prevent certain speakers belonging from Sindh to act in a manner prejudicial to public safety and maintenance of public order in the province; it is therefore vital to prevent their movements in Sindh.
As per the notification, speakers from other provinces will not be permitted to travel either by road or air to enter, reside or remain in Sindh.
This order shall remain in effect for 60 days with immediate effect.
The government stated that there are reasons to believe that these speakers will make inflammatory speeches, that their speeches, presence or other activities may promote feelings of hatred and ill will among different sects of Islam.
