Teacher shot dead as two people killed in Balochistan

QUETTA: Two people, including a teacher were killed in separate incidents of violence in Balochistan on Thursday. A bullet-riddled body was also found dumped.

According to police, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a senior science teacher of Model High School in Chatkan area of Panjgur district. The teacher identified as Abdul Hahad, sustained fatal bullet wounds. He was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to his wounds before he could be helped.

The assailants manage to flee from the scene after committing the crime.

Local administration later moved Hahad’s body to a hospital for medico-legal formalities before handing it to his heirs for burial.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.

In another incident, a man was killed in Sara Ghardgi, on the outskirts of Quetta.

Levies officials said that one man identified as Ahmedullah was shot dead by armed men in Zarghoonabad area who fled after committing the crime.

Levies shifted the body to Civil Hospital Quetta and registered a case against unidentified people.

Body recovered

Acting on a tip-off, police recovered a bullet-riddled body in Uthal area of Lasbela district on Thursday.

The body was shifted to hospital for postmortem where identity of body was established as Akbar Kher Mohammad Baloch, a resident of Sakuran hub.  “He was brutally tortured before he was killed with a a bullet to his chest,” hospital sources said.

Police officials said that the victim bore bullet wounds in his head and chest while marks of torture were also visible on the body. They however, said it could not be known who was behind the murder.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
