Diamer-Bhasha Dam: G-B Scouts to provide dam security

Scouts wing will be ready within a year: DG Scouts

GILGIT: A separate wing of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Scouts will be raised for the security of Diamer-Bhasha Dam, Brigadier Babar Salahuddin, Director General (DG) Scouts announced on Monday. Speaking at a press conference, the DG said that the Scouts wing will be ready within a year.  Elaborating upon the importance of the dam, he said that it will generate electricity of 4,500 megawatts, and will be completed in eight years at a cost of over $12 billion. Speaking about the security measures taken for Gilgit city, he said that the scouts and Pakistan rangers will take up the responsibility of protecting Gilgit city during Muharram. He said that Rangers will be removed once the Scouts strength is complete.
