Reports of rising crime rate pour in from different parts of Sindh

NAUDERO/ TANDO ADAM: As the numbers of robberies and kidnappings in Naudero and surrounding areas continues to rise, people raised their concerns that police are not doing enough.

A retired teacher and music shop owner, Jai Ram Das, was robbed by two unidentified men on a motorcycle. “They came into the shop and wanted to see some speakers,” said Das. He added that they did not pay him and one of the men took out a gun and they both fled. Das told the media that his shop has been robbed twice in the span of a month but the police has neither been able to recover any of the goods nor capture the assailants.

In an unrelated incident, two buffaloes were stolen from Sharan Ji Wandh village from Himath Shar’s house on Friday night, which are yet to be recovered. A Toyota car was snatched by armed assailants near Saidu Dero from a trader, Sain Dino Bhayo, and has still not been found.

A Suzuki was snatched on Friday from vegetable traders near Saboo Kertio village on Sukkur-Larkana road. All the people in the car were also robbed of cash and other valuables.

Seperately, a man identified as Mewo Khaskheli, was kidnapped by unidentified men in Tando Adam a few days back. Mewo’s brother, journalist Khan Muhammad Khashkeli, said that the police have failed to take any action in finding Mewo.

In another incident, Ghulam Qadir was gunned down by unidentified assailants around four days ago in the limits of Tando Adam Taluka police. No FIR had been registered till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, a gang of robbers raided Mumtaz Memon’s house and stole over 20 tola of gold in jewellery and cash. A 13-year-old boy has also been missing from Thaheem Colony of Tando Adam for the past five days. His parents suspect he was kidnapped.

It seems that there is absolutely no government in Karachi or Sindh. The state seems to give a free hand to criminals.
