Defusing explosives : Security personnel injured in NW

A curfew was imposed from 6:30am in the Miranshah, Datta Khel and Razmak subdivisions.

MIRANSHAH: A security official was injured while defusing a remote-controlled bomb near a checkpoint in Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan Agency on Sunday. An official of the security forces said that unidentified militants planted two bombs near Amin checkpoint, which were being defused by security officials. One of the planted bombs exploded resulting in the injury of one official. He was taken to the Army Unit Hospital in Miranshah where his condition was said to be stable. In another incident in Datta Khel, security forces defused a roadside bomb when a convoy of the forces on the way to Miranshah from Datta Khel spotted the bomb and defused it. A curfew was imposed from 6:30am in the Miranshah, Datta Khel and Razmak subdivisions, with all business activities remaining closed.
