Pakistan Muslim League-(Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Friday said that some elements were trying to defame the army and spreading rumours of a clash of institutions.
Without naming the institution, he said, “Talking against our own army will not strengthen the institutions, it will weaken them.” Speaking on the occasion of Iqbal Day at the PML-Q House, he said the political leadership has the collective responsibility to steer the country out of the crises.
He said democracy was gaining roots and fair elections were the only solution to various issues Pakistan is facing.
He called for promoting the ideals of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam for the development of a responsible political culture.
He said the forces underestimating the power of PML-Q should know that the next elections would be fought on the basis of the politics of the constituencies instead of lamp-post polling for personality icons.
