HYDERABAD:

The police claimed on Friday that the recent targeted killings in Hyderabad were linked to a single group as the same weapons were used in each attack. They added that all the victims were shot in the forehead and that the timing and method was identical.

The attacks, which include the killing of four members of the Bohri community, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader and an attack on the Ghausia Foundation, were carried out in a span of four days.

Imran aka Commando, who was arrested for the killing of MQM leader Jalilur Rehman, was presented in court on Thursday, November 8, by the Phuleli police. He was given a 14-day judicial remand. Saleheen Qureshi was arrested for the killings of the Bohris and sources said that he had confessed to having personal enmity with two of the victims, Murtaza Bohri and Shabbir Bohri, but did not kill them.

Meanwhile, SP Headquarters Amjad Shaikh ordered the transfer of removed the City SHO, Aamer Jafferi, for not making any progress in the attack on the Ghausia Foundation office. He was replaced by Tariq Khanzada.

Shaikh told The Sindh Express that around 500 personnel have been deployed and pickets were set up in various areas in order to ensure security during Muharram. Over 184 police officers have been deployed in Hyderabad and around 200 commandoes have also been posted at other locations.
