The police arrested half a dozen suspects for investigation.
The team investigating the terror bid obtained the record of ownership of the truck and found that the truck was leased out with the help of a local bank in 2005.
After that, it was sold and bought by several people. The investigative team has rounded up six people who had the ownership of that truck.
However, the team revealed that there was no report lodged regarding the truck being stolen.
Express News quoted sources as saying that Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud was involved in the attack, who has been hiding in Karachi for the past one year.
The police also obtained CCTV footage of the truck, in which it is seen crashing into the Rangers Headquarters.
Compensation
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah announced Rs2 million in compensation for families of those killed in an attack on Rangers in the North Nazimabad area of Karachi, reported Express News.
On Thursday, at least three Rangers were killed and 13 more were wounded when a suicide attacker rammed a mini-truck laden with 150kg of explosives into one of the entrances of a residential complex housing the personnel of Pakistan Rangers’ Sacchal wing.
The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, al Qaeda and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s Naeem Bukhari group were stated to be involved in the attack on CID head office that claimed seven lives and wounded several others.

So they can actually investigate. Hurry, minorities, and start camping out near their headquarters. You might still die but if the building is damaged they might look into finding the culprits.
Past 4.5 years Pakistan has proved without doubt to have become banana republic....where a known terrorist has been hiding in Karachi for the past 1 yr but disclosed today...why ? then the govt insists it has not failed to govern & protect its citizens as per constitution.....
Open letter system can only be abolished if all the responsiblity of actions of new owner is accorded to documented owner! this should be made a henios crime to sell cars on open letters and govt should start punish such people! Owner should make sure that car ownership is changed to the new owner and also receive a confirmation letter from authorities, that he has sold this car.
Automatic number plate readers cameras should installed at major streets and checkpoints, these APNRs should be linked to registration offices of provinces, token tax, NADRA, stolen cars databases and cars on watchlist! In this way Police can only stop suspected vehicle without manually checking each and every one without no online checking.
Rehman Malik! Please block all printing & publishing press now. No more papers in the country is a solution for NO "open letters" :p
@Khalq e Khuda: They will get a budget boost which coincidentally is approved around November..
Rehman Malik! block all mobiles, this open letter is also due to people using mobile phones. The explosive was also teleported through mobile phones.
Perhaps if Rangers spent less time in land grabbing and misbehaving with ordinary citizens every time they pass by a rangers' van and more time on actual security concerns the attack could have been mitigated.
All roads lead to banks. From BIS to Wachovia and now their local minions and their open letter.
Never knew Hakim Ullah Mehsud is in Karachi???
No condemnation from political parties ?
