Deadly attack: Man sentenced to death

The judge also directed the convict to pay Rs200,000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased.

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum on Friday awarded death sentence to a man and acquitted another of murder charges by giving him the benefit of doubt. The judge also directed the convict to pay Rs200,000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased. In case of non-payment, another six months will be added to his prison term. According to the prosecution, Complainant Shehryar along with his brother Kashif was on his way home in Baghbanpur police area when Pervez alias Munna and Shafique alias Kuku attacked Kashif with a knife. They killed Kashif and fled the scene. The judge awarded death sentence to Pervez and acquitted Shafique.
