KARACHI:
At least five alleged robbers were shot dead in two separate police encounters in the precincts of Boat Basin and North Nazimabad police stations late Thursday evening. SP Clifton Javed Maher said that patrolling had been beefed up in the Shirin Jinnah Colony area on complaints of rampant muggings. “A police patrol saw six men robbing people. When the police party challenged them they opened fire on the police mobile.
