Bashir qureshi ‘murder’: JSQM threatens to go to high court

Family of murdered political leader struggles to get justice.

SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD: The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) believes that the lower court did not rule justly in the ‘murder case’ of the party’s Chairman, Bashir Khan Qureshi. In spite of repeated visits by the Qureshi family, the police had refused to register an FIR against Qureshi’s murderer. The family then filed a 'contempt of court' case against the Sakrand police.

In the hearing on Wednesday, the additional district and session’s judge, Inamullah Kalhoro, asked the police again to register the case according to the wishes of the family. But SSP Khalid Mustafa Korai, SP KD Chandio and SHO Sanaullah, who were all present at the hearing, said that the family never approached them for the FIR. This however was refuted by the lawyer of the Qureshi family.
