FAISALABAD:

Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMEA) North Zone Vice Chairman Syed Zia Alamdar Husain said that the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) hatched a conspiracy to create panic amongst the people of Punjab by issuing a notification regarding three days gas supply to Faisalabad and five days to Lahore in a week.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that the SNGPL authorities in the notification stated that “due to increase in gas consumption in northern areas of the country on account of severe winter, we are facing depletion in our transmission system pack and the system is being operated at minimum pack. Further depletion may result in total collapse of the system.”

To prevent the collapse, a curtailment scheduled was framed for the industrial sector during the period from October 29 (6 am) to November 5 (6 am).

He appealed to the government to take notice of biased distribution of gas by the SNGPL and ensure equal distribution of gas supply to the industries of the Punjab province.
