Football: PPFL games rescheduled due to Singapore tour

KARACHI: Pakistan team’s tour to Singapore has forced the country’s federation to reschedule 10 matches of the football league that resumes tomorrow after the Eid break.

According to a Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) official, teams including NBP, Wapda and KRL requested for matches to be rescheduled as at least three to four of their players were called to the national camp. However, PFF Secretary Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi said the tour will not disturb the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) after the rescheduling takes place.

“Some teams had asked us to reschedule their matches after the Singapore tour and we accepted their request,” Lodhi told The Express Tribune. “The tour is important as the national team will take on the hosts’ under-23 team and will play a Fifa Day friendly with their national side.”

The 10 games will now take place after November 22.
