MARDAN: Four people were injured when a CNG cylinder exploded in a rickshaw in Mardan on Tuesday. Haq Nawaz, an official of the city police, said that at around 1pm a huge explosion was heard at a CNG station near the DCO’s office, adding that he along with other police personnel rushed to the site after hearing the blast.  The rickshaw driver Rahmatullah, two passengers and an employee named Taimoor sustained injuries. Nawaz added that the cylinder of the rickshaw exploded when Taimoor was filling gas, adding that the rickshaw was completely destroyed. Fayaz, the owner of the pump, said that the CNG pump was also damaged. He added that the cylinder used in the rickshaw was of low quality, which was why it burst when pressure was exerted. The injured were rushed to Mardan Medical Complex where doctors said their condition was stable.
