Inter-district transportation charges lowered in K-P

Inter-district charges to be reduced from 25% to 30%, says RTA in notification.

Inter-district transportation charges lowered in K-P

PESHAWAR: Following reduction in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has also issued a notification to reduce inter-district transport charges.

RTA announced the inter-district charges reduction from 25% to 30% in a notification issued Tuesday afternoon.

According to details, the transportation charges from Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan have been reduced from Rs353 to Rs252, and to Swat district have been shortened from Rs181 to Rs129.

RTA also reduced transportation charges for people travelling from Peshawar to Malakand.

Earlier, transporters charged Rs145 which has now been reduced to Rs103 whereas charges for Dir have been lowered from Rs262 to Rs188.

Secretary Transport Tariq Naseem told media persons that inter-city transportation charges remained unchanged, adding that those found violating the new inter-district fare list, will be dealt with iron hands.
