Illegal fishing: BLF torches govt boat

QUETTA: Unidentified men torched a patrolling speed boat belonging to Balochistan Fisheries Department in Pasni, a coastal town of the province on Monday. According to reports, the boat, which was worth millions of rupees, was purchased by the Balochistan government to prevent illegal trawlers from using the waters. Banned outfit Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for torching the boat via phone messages sent to journalists in Gwadar district. The banned outfit claimed that Balochistan Fisheries Department had sold Balochistan’s coast to a trawler mafia which was depriving Baloch fishermen of their rightful share.
