After a disappointing performance by Aamir Atlas Khan in the US, Pakistan’s Danish Atlas Khan and Farhan Zaman were knocked out in round one of the Goodlife Open being played in Ottawa, Canada.
Danish lost to Canada’s Shawn Delierre, who won in straight sets with scores of 11-8, 11-8 and 11-5, while Zaman lost to South Africa’s Clinton Leeuw 16-14, 13-11 and 11-8.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) was still calm even after the players’ disappointing results. “Both Danish and Zaman had worked hard in training and they will do well once they get into the rhythm of playing against top players,” a PSF official told The Express Tribune.
Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated "tennis" in the headline instead of "squash". The error is regretted.
