A statement issued by the White House read, “Michelle and I extend our best wishes for a joyful Eidul Azha to Muslims in the United States and around the world.”
“We also congratulate the millions of peaceful pilgrims who are performing the Hajj, including thousands of American Muslims,” it added.
The American president said that Muslim communities join members of many faiths to help the disadvantaged. He said that on the occasion of Eidul Azha, Muslim communities continue this practice by distributing food to the needy.
“Such acts of compassion underscore the shared values of the Abrahamic religions and people of all faiths,” he said.
