Sources said that Krishna sent his resignation to the Prime Minister Office.
Ahead of his three-day visit to Pakistan for secretary-level talks, Krishna had said that friendship between the two countries has become inevitable, especially after they have reconciled over several sensitive issues.
Concluding his much-anticipated and closely-watched three-day trip to Pakistan on a high note, Krishna had termed his interactions “very fruitful”.

‘Cabinet being reshuffled to create space for Amul baby.’ And I noticed; There was no ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ or, even a ‘may be’; so I took it as a definitive prediction. Also, hoped, you will take it back, if it doesn’t materialise.
As it happened, it didn't. I am certain that there is some kind of conspiracy behind it just to prove you wrong. And I am equally certain that we will become wiser, sooner than later, with the benefit of a conspiracy theory behind all of it.
@Mohammed Siddiqui
unlike Pakistan where Military chiefs call the shots and command precedence over even the President of the country.India awards an order of precedence of 12 to her Military chiefs below attorney general and cabinet secretary.so your analogy of establishment doesn't hold water in case of India.
This is a right decision. After all the man is 80 years old. All these old men and women must resign and give way to younger men and women a chance at governing. Manmohan Singh also should resign because he is also nealrly 80. Far too long these old person have remained in power therefore it is time to groom younger politicians. But power brings money and I would not hold my breath for a spate of resignations from Central and State leaders in India. Krishna may be an odd example.
have no knowledge about these Indian Politicians but generally to me this guy seemed very nice ,he has done alot to bring India and Pakistan on a good track
@Arijit Sharma, @Usman 786: 2 separate issues: Rahul has said that he is ready to take on some ministerial berth. Separately Krishna has been indicted (though not yet convicted) by Karnataka Lokayukta which has prompted his resignation. For myPakistani friends - Lokayukta is like your state level NAB/FIA. So when Krishna was Chief Minister of Karnataka there was a project for which he is under the scanner
@Mohammed Siddiqui We don't really have an 'establishment which is a separate pillar. the COAS, Chief of Airforce and Navy all report to defense minister. 6 months back when the - then COAS minister asked for a meeting with the PM, the PM denied the request and asked him to route his concerns through his boss - the defense minister. Army has zero control on foreign policy and only influences it through the defense minister who is a cabinet colleague of the foreign minister.
He is corrupt... that's it.. Anyways,... But he did try to normalize India-Pakistan relation..he sure tried to make some advancement..

He must have resigned due to unnecessary pressure on him by Indian establishment.
Details please
Cabinet being reshuffled to create space for Amul baby.
Perhaps our politicians should take a clue from his resignation after only the implied association with the scam. And maybe just maybe, they will all self resign given their very current checkered legal history. Ahhhh, wishful thinking!
one down......many left....
Good! Now we can all go back to square one with a new External affairs minister and continue the Chai-biskoot sessions. I strongly believe that "Talk, talk is better than war, war".
