Farooq Sattar inquires after Malala in Birmingham

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar inquired about Malala Yousafzai at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on Thursday, according to a statement issued by the party.

Malala Yousafzai was injured in an attack in Swat on October 9 that was later claimed by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.

The MQM said that Dr Sattar was told by the hospital’s doctors and administration that Malala’s condition was improving rapidly, and she has started walking as well. He was also told that Malala is also being given counselling.

Dr Sattar presented Malala with a bouquet and card and inquired about her condition on behalf of party chief Altaf Hussain.

The MQM has been extremely vocal about condemning the attack on Malala, and organised prayer vigils as well as a large rally to protest the attack in Karachi.
