
The branch registry of the Supreme Court has accepted the bail pleas of two clerks allegedly involved in leaking examination papers of the Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) Mardan.
A division bench comprising Justice Nasirul Mulk and Justice Tariq Parvez accepted the bail applications filed by two AWKU Junior clerks Mansoor Akbar and Waheedullah and asked them to submit Rs200,000 and two surety bonds.
The two officials were accused of leaking BA, BSc, B.Com and B.Ed exam papers and supervisory duty list to exam candidates from AWKU’s secrecy branch on February 16, 2011. The papers had been leaked through emails a day before the exams commenced.
Both officials were held and a case was registered against them by AWKU Controller Examinations under Sections 161, 408, 409/5(2) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
