Cricket: Shafiq, Rameez Jr annihilate Hamdam Cricket Club

Test player Asad Shafiq hammered a double century while international batsman Rameez Raja Junior scored a ton to help Pakistan Cricket Club (PCC) defeat Hamdam Cricket Club by an emphatic margin of 223 runs in the Mehdi Hasan Memorial Tournament at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.


Batting first, PCC amassed 377 for two in 45 overs courtesy a 219-run opening stand between Shafiq and Raja. Shafiq remained unbeaten on 214 off 142 balls, clubbing three sixes and 26 fours while Raja hit three sixes and six boundaries in his 88-ball knock. In reply, Hamdam CC bundled out for a meagre 154 in 42.4 overs. The trio of Adnan Kaleem, Faraz Ahmed Khan and Mir Hamza bagged two wickets apiece.
