High court order: ‘Take action against estate officer’

Petitioner submitted that estate officer Shabbir Hussain had allotted many houses in Wafaqi Colony to private persons.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed the federal government to take action against an estate officer who allotted government residences to private persons. Justice Syed Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi issued the order while disposing of a petition filed by Fayaz Ahmad.  The petitioner submitted that estate officer Shabbir Hussain had allotted many houses in Wafaqi Colony to private persons. He said the colony was established for federal government’s servants but the estate officer had taken millions of rupees from private parties and allotted them houses in the colony.
