Pepe Reina is on track to be back in shape for Liverpool’s Merseyside derby with Everton this weekend, as he previously missed out on the Reading game for precautionary purposes.

In his place, Reina saw Brad Jones display a great set of skills on the pitch for the Reds in the match-winning game, making a couple of crucial saves to protect a clean sheet, according to ESPN. He was more than pleased with his understudy’s performance, but is now eager to return against Everton. “I’m getting better, little by little,” said Reina. “It wasn’t worth taking any risks because you risk it getting worse. I’ll be patient and get really good.”
