Karo kari murders?: Clash in Shikarpur leaves seven dead

SUKKUR: The Dilawar Marfari police station in Shirkarpur registered FIRs against more than a 100 members of Tunio and Sundrani clans on Sunday. The clash started when a member of the Tunio clan, Rehmatullah Tunio, was killed by armed men while working in his field. Members of the Tunio clan held the Sundrani clansmen responsible for his death and launched a retaliatory attack killing six people and injuring 12. A police contingent moved the dead and injured to a hospital in taluka Garhi Yasin. The incident allegedly took place over a karo kari dipute in which a Sundrani clan member had been killed an year ago. The head constable, Khadim Hussain Shah, told The Express Tribune that no one has been arrested yet. Police have been posted in the area to prevent further bloodshed.
