Tennis: Aqeel, Yasir through to semi-finals
Top seeds Aqeel Khan and Yasir Khan cruised into the semi-finals of the NBP National Tennis Championship yesterday.
Pakistan number one Aqeel defeated Mohammad Manzar 6-0, 6-3, while Yasir outplayed Khalid Ali Nazar 6-3, 6-0 in the men’s singles quarter-finals.
Davis Cupper Mohammad Abid also booked a place in the last-four after defeating Hasan Riaz 6-2, 6-3, while Talha Zubair overcame Talha Abrar 6-1, 6-0.
Meanwhile, Maheen Dada will take on Rida Khalid in the women’s singles final tomorrow. Dada defeated Urooj Iltifat 6-0, 6-0 and Rida beat Sehar khwaja 6-2, 6-2 to reach the final.
