Members of the American consulate including the consul general, Michael Dodman, visited Karachi Electric Supply Corporation’s (KESC) head office on Friday.
The chief executive officer of KESC, Tabish Gauhar, thanked the delegation for their interest in KESC’s affairs and briefed them on the company’s progress. He said that KESC has invested one billion dollars in installing 1,000 MW of generation capacity and in developing the transmission and distribution of electricity. He also informed the delegation about the new coal-fired power projects and biogas power plants that the company was hoping to set up in the future. Dodman assured KESC of American cooperation and said that he would try to encourage investors to work in Pakistan’s power sector.
