KARACHI:

The Anti-Terrorism Court III issued a non-bailable warrant for the complainant in a murder trial over his failure to appear in court for hearings.

The complainant reportedly said he could not attend the last hearing because he wasn’t well, and was not available at the hearing on October 20.

The court has ordered that he be presented on October 24.

Three men - Rahib Hussain, Badshah Magsi and Irshad Bughio - are accused of extorting at least Rs50,000 from a doctor within the precincts of the Frere Town police station last September.

In the earlier hearings, the court was told that the alleged victim managed to detain the extortionists on a motorcycle, while their accomplices fled.

When the alleged extortionists were checked by the police, they found the extorted money as well as a gun.
