ECP sets PP 226 by-election for November 27

ECP launches schedule for remaining by-polls. Candidates to file papers by November 1.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a schedule for remaining stages of by-election in constituency PP-226 Sahiwal-VII for the Provincial Assembly of Punjab.

The seat fell vacant after its previous occupant Malik Iqbal Ahmed Langriyal, Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab was disqualified.

The dates for scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officer are October 31,2012 and November 1, 2012 while November 2, 2012 has been declared as last date for filing appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer-rejecting or accepting the nomination papers .

Last date for deciding appeals by a tribunal has been set for November 6, 2012, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 7, 2012.

The revised list of candidates would be published on November 8, 2012, and polling would be held on November 27, 2012.
