KARACHI:

Jamaatud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on Thursday for a three-day tour, according to a statement issued by the organisation.

The Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), which is enlisted under the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1267, has an extensive presence in the province.

Hafiz Saeed is expected to deliver the sermon before Friday prayers at the Jamia Masjid Taqwa in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

The tour was described in the statement as an “organisational” one and Saeed is expected to take stock of the JuD’s activities for Eidul Azha. The statement added that Saeed will also meet with representatives of religious and political groups.

The JuD publicises its sacrificial hide collection drive for Eidul Azha throughout Karachi, using graffiti, posters and text messages.
