The court heard the initial arguments and then directed the IG.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police to decide within two weeks the matter of risk allowances for traffic wardens and then submit a report to the court.  Justice Shahid Waheed passed the order on a petition moved by several traffic wardens seeking a risk allowance. They submitted that all other Punjab Police officials were receiving a risk allowance. Denying such an allowance to traffic wardens was discrimination, they said, as their jobs were equally dangerous. They asked the court to direct the IG to give wardens a risk allowance too. The court heard the initial arguments and then directed the IG to solve the matter within two weeks.
