Talking to the media in Islamabad, Chaudhry Nisar said that the public representatives are taken into confidence on such sensitive issues in democratic countries. He further alleged that the government wants to create a situation to postpone the elections.
The opposition leader maintained that no Pakistani was involved in the 9/11 attacks but the government has been fighting somebody else’s war since the last 11 years.
He added that his party Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) would not compromise on the dual nationality issue, however, seats should be reserved for Pakistani expatriates.
The opposition leader also condemned the attack on 14-year-old Malala Yousafzai who was shot by the Taliban for speaking against them.

@Ijaz Mir: War is never an answer, eradicating a problem strategically is. Not fighting with ownself not knowing what you are getting into
@Shahzad: A spot on analysis. Unfortunately, individuals with clear thinking as your good-self are in minority who understand the teachings of true Islam and not its twisted version as rightly pointed out by you. Agreed, that the sword has to be unsheathed at some point of time and this appears to be the right moment as the whole nation is shaken after Malala's incident and wants its armed forces to deliver which they have failed so far since only half-hearted measures were taken in fighting the enemies of the nation.
It boggles my mind, when I see these politcal parties and some tv anchors and analyst present themselves as the champion of democracy, constitution, and justice supporting a fringe group of thugs killing our people with no regards to democracy, constitution, and our justice system...what is wrong with this picture or are they the same people with different faces however, same agenda of regressive and intolerant ideals.
@Ali: You should come to Karachi. We kill 15 people daily. We are ruled by British National sitting in Britain but managed by his right hand sitting in Dubai.
Oh you are speaking against the interest of country of which your kids are national.
Its bad reporting. Ch Nisar quoted Rehman Malik that the mastermind of Malala attack is in Afghanistan and the foot soldiers who carried the attack are in Swat and asked what is the logic behind attacking NW when the perpetrators are either in Swat or Afghanistan. tribune failed to mention that. You read that in conjunction, he makes sense. However still I don't agree. I want an operation in NW but tying Malala attack to such operation is senseless.
Pakistans problems are truly terminal +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Operate and the cancer spreads and kills the patient Dont operate and it will surely kill the patient.
Are we suggesting we have to further wait for more insecurity, before our security apparatus would take action to safeguard the people across the country. Just an observation.... When it comes to throwing the democratic system the security establishment find all the justification in the world to over through the elected government, but when it comes to really safeguard the interest and life of people, they wait for concensus.....what is Wong with this picture.
Nobody in Pakistan seems to see that the process of Talibanization, set in motion by Ziaul Haq, has already gone so far in respect of the State, Society, and All Institutions of Pakistan that nobody really wants that any steps should be taken against the Taliban. Pakistan is wedded to a national mindset dating to AD 632. Somebody will have to arise who can shake the country and the people out of their medieval mindset. Without that, nothing else will work. Already foreign investment in Pakistan has plummeted. This is indicative of the rest of the world losing hope and faith in respect of Pakistan. A country cannot be run on Quranic economic principles. There is need to arrest this drift before it goes too far.
@ Ch Nisar This is the time when whole world and whole world is behind to get rid of this menace. There is no time to do politics. For gods sake it is now or never..
@S K Afridi: You say that "This operation (in N. Waziristan) is not in our national interest"! Please tell us what the government should do about the various terrorist/militant groups BASED in North Waziristan that have killed and maimed so many Pakistanis over the last decade! Are those deaths not a factor in our "national interest"?
Life of Malala is the most Pakistani then the life of 170 innocent who killed in Karachi during the last month???
The way things are turning out, it may be that PPP & MQM shall form the next government with the support of the Army. Some sort of Bangladesh model. Awam & Army are fed up with the Political & Religious Parties continuing to protect the terrorists. When Army gets involved, all such groups & the Judiciary shall be quietened. Army knows that if it does not get involved, it will be wiped out.
I think we people can't handle to Talibans. 1- Taliban Khan 2- Taliban Chaudhry . Mercy please mercy.
If we can't fight the rag tag Taliban how can we ever fight India? Why not hand over Indian Kashmir to India on the same principle we are handing over tribal areas to Taliban?
@S K Afridi: Islam through Hadith gives guidance on governance including on how to coexist with other non Muslims. But it does not allow alternative sources of state power. The Taliban are non state actors who state that apostates ( mur tad ) have to be killed whereas (monafique) it is good practise to kill. Can the state allow this twisted ideology to exist and be practised against its own citizens and against our neighbours including Afghanistan, Iran, China and India. Now this is not fundamentalist Islam but hiding the truth about Islam and in fact blaspheming against our beloved Prophet pbuh, may I suggest this is obscurantism ( falsifying the truth ). I am against war to I, believe light the candle when you fight darkness. But then if the obscurantists blow out the candle and think they have a monopoly on violence and the state should be prevented from protecting its citizens, then I am afraid at some stage you will have to unsheath your sword. But agreed you have to first take the moral high ground to show this ideology is twisted wrong and not according to a great religion. The concern is , that pml n and choudri nisar on the same platform or are they simply spokesmen for this twisted philosophy , I believe the jury is out and time will tell. But I hope and pray that sanity prevails. Recommended1
So, what do you propose, Chaudhary saheb, as the solution? Cuddling up to them like your khadim-e-Aala did by saying don't harm us because we think like you? From your statement it seems elections are more important to you than any mortal threat to the country.
I was positively inclined towards the PML-N but no more. Same old mantra: "it's not our war!!". He is hoodwinking the Pakistani public. Even General Kayani has said it is very much our war in August 2012 and so have the Taliban (repeatedly) by their actions in Swat and by their attacks on Pakistanis, the Pakistan army and Pakistan's sovereignty. There are multiple youtube videos where they clearly state that they want to make Pakistan a Taliban state. Their latest proof of this is an attack on a 14 year old girl.
The PML-N have no solution, in fact they are obstructing because they are sympathetic to the Taliban cause. Are Pakistanis willing to accept these as the countries leaders? Are Pakistanis willing to accept Talibanisation? I think an emphatic no. This war will not come to an end and Pakistan will not progress economically until the Taliban are defeated. The PML-N should be booted out in the next election so that Pakistanis can start to hope for their future once more.
As if the country has any choice. You and other proTaliban religious pressure groups are complicit in the Taliban atrocities. Why should you care, Does it matter if people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa die daily? Punjab and particularly Lahore is safe. But one day these snakes are going to bite you too.
Chaudhry Saheb, what you believe is do nothing! You should have demanded a comprehensive and powerful operation to root out Taliban, in stead of a half-hearted operation! If military would until things become normal the be ready for a complete collapse of the state of Pakistan.
Attack on Malala has its origin in the Nuristan Province of Afghanistan. It has nothing to do with North Waziristan. Ch. Nisar is rightly opined that operations in North Waziristan will make Pakistan more insecure. Some media houses have joined hands with the US to pressurize the Government and the Army to undertake operations in NW which will be catastrophic. This operation is not in our national interest therefore the Government should not push for the passage of this resolution.
Is he talking about Pakistan becoming insecure or Pakistani Politicians becoming insecure?
Most politicians, Judges in pakistan seem afraid of confronting the evil of Extremism.
"no Pakistani was involved in the 9/11 attacks but the government has been fighting somebody else’s war since the last 11 years." But the only place in the entire world where Osama found sanctuary was Pakistan. Now Mr. Nisar this is up to you to decide whether this was the incompetency or complacency of Pakistan.
Its all Imran's fault.
More insecure than Taliban killing 5 to 10 people everyday?
Mr. Nisar we are already living in maximum possible insecurity. Nothing can be worst then what Pakistani face now. Each passing day make this monster more and more strong. Better to get rid of them sooner then later.
Is there any major party with a shot to cme to power in Pakistan that is able and willing to deal with scourge of terrorism? PPP seems willing but not able. PML-N and PTI are clearly nwilling. Sad.
The War against the terrorists’ organizations should be fought through intelligence operations rather than full scale military operation. Large maneuver tends to displace local populace and creates resentment. Drones are one efficient method where collateral damage is much smaller as compared to full scale military operation. Lets us not be enticed by sentiments but take a well deliberated course of action. Military operations are part of the solution and not the solution. It must be followed by Political, development and social actions.
Agree. PPP govt is making the mess of every issue. They should transfer this issue to next govt to avoid further destruction and should rather focus on holding a fair election.
So now will he be called Taliban Nisar or Talina - e - Ala by the liberal media? or are they cozy with the N-League?
