Group selling illegal SIMs arrested in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A group selling illegal SIMs was arrested in Peshawar on Monday during a raid in Khushal Market, reported Express News.

A latest mobile SIMs activator, as well as hundreds of active SIMs of different companies, was recovered from the shop located in a mobile phone centre. Three people were reportedly arrested including Afghan nationals.

According to initial reports, the group’s network extended across the country and SIMs were being activated through National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and voters lists.

The court has allowed for the arrested men to be remanded in police custody and a three-member investigation team has been formed to further probe the matter.
