Police officials and FC men deployed at the check posts, however, repulsed the attack after a heavy hand to hand fight which continued for about 45 minutes. Police personnel from the Badabher police station were sent to reinforce the area, forcing the militants to flee towards Akka Khel area of the adjacent Khyber Agency.
