Space research: ‘GNSS will be functional by 2013’
GNSS allows a small electronic receiver to determine its location using time signals transmitted from the satellites.

ISLAMABAD:
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), acquired by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), will become functional by June 2013. The system is a set of navigation satellites, which provide geo-spatial positioning service worldwide. GNSS allows a small electronic receiver to determine its location using time signals transmitted from the satellites. According to Suparco spokesperson Hassam Khan, the system has tremendous applications across several fields.
