Eidul azha: Security to be enhanced at cattle market, says KMC chief

Security arrangements will be put in place along Superhighway so that people can purchase sacrificial animals ahead of Eidul Azha, announced Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) administrator Mohammad Hussain Syed during a visit to the cattle market on Tuesday.


Nearly 76,000 cows and 27,000 goats have been brought to the market so far. Police and Rangers will be deputed and city wardens will be available to guide people and helping them in parking their vehicles.

The administrator said that the KMC had provided tax exemption for the entry of sacrificial animals in the city and had also waived the license fee for brokers. Medical checkup of animals and other veterinary services were also being provided for free, so that brokers would provide keep the prices of the animals in check.

Syed added that legal action would be taken against anyone found charging a tax or a fee on behalf of the KMC at the cattle market till 10th Zilhaj.
