Weapon theft: Court orders case against policemen

Police registered a case against the two under Section 409 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

FAISALABAD: A case has been registered against Thikriwala Station House Officer (SHO) Shaukat and Investigation Officer Sanaullah for allegedly stealing a Kalashnikov recovered from a murder suspect. Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Yaqoob, who is investigating the case, said the police had arrested Javaid for a murder on October 13, 2009 and recovered a Kalashnikov rifle from him. During his trial, the Kalashnikov went missing. The court ordered registration of a case against the SHO and the IO. Police registered a case against the two under Section 409 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
