World bank: Greater attention to women entrepreneurs

WB team visited the IWCCI and met with its founder president Samina Fazil, former vice president and other members.

The World Bank (WB) will pay more attention to women entrepreneurs in Pakistan and lend them additional support at the technical, academic and policy level, according to a press statement issued by the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI).


A WB team comprising South Asia Private and Financial Sector Specialist Yasuhiko Yuge and Strategy and Operations Officer Maria Paulina Mogolion visited the IWCCI and met with its founder president Samina Fazil, former vice president Naima Ansari and other members of the chamber.

Delegation members noted that the role of women in creating, running, and growing businesses is recognised as fundamental for growth and poverty reduction.
