Target attack: ASI killed, two others injured

QUETTA: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was killed and two police personnel were injured in a shooting in Mughalzai area, Kalat District, around 160 kilometres away from the provincial capital of Balochistan on Friday. Mohammad Murad of Kalat Police told The Express Tribune that a police mobile was patrolling the area, when unidentified armed men opened fire on it. ASI Ali Nawaz Lehri was killed on the spot. The attackers immediately escaped following the attack. The deceased and injured were taken to a hospital for an autopsy. The injured remained unidentified till the filing of this report. The motive behind the attack remained unknown, while a case was registered against the assailants and an investigation was underway.
