Crime: Transvestite assaulted, three booked

HARIPUR: Three men were booked for physically assaulting and shaving the head of a transvestite on Friday. The Haripur Police registered the case on the complaint of the members of the She Male Association. The association members claimed that their colleague Umair, alias Mehak, a resident of Ferozpura Mohalla, was preparing to leave for a birthday party in Manshera, when Rehman and his two accomplices barged into Mehak’s flat. They said the three men beat her unconscious and shaved her hair. On the directives of District Police Officer Muhammad Ali Gandapur, the Haripur City Police registered a criminal case against the accused. However, none of them could be apprehended.
