KARACHI: A small fire broke out in the basement of the gutted factory, Ali Enterprises, on Thursday afternoon, said the SITE police. They suspected the reason for the fire was because of the hot weather as black smoke filled the room which was full of melted iron. Though containers were placed all around the factory, the seal was broken off when firemen came in to put out the fire. The SITE police station officer, Irshad Hussain, said that it started because of the heat and the clothes in the room caught fire. But it will soon be extinguished. Over three weeks have passed since the ill-fated incident, yet the building was still vulnerable and in a position where it could catch fire at any moment because of the heat inside the building.
