ISLAMABAD: A special desk would be established at all the government hospitals to provide free medical treatment to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development (CAD) Riffat Shaheen Qazi, addressing a ceremony at an inclusive Society for Children with Disabilities, said that special identity cards for PWDs will be essential for availing this facility along with other incentives, including a 50% discount in air and train fares and getting jobs on reserved quota. She said that special measures will be taken up to ensure that PWDs contribute in the main stream. The secretary added that the government is taking concrete steps for addressing needs of special children. “A number of steps have been taken up for the education, training and rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities”, she said.
