KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Thursday announced that all compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Sindh will remain close for 48 hours from 9 am on Friday October 5 till 9 am on Sunday October 7, 2012, according to press release. This step had been taken by the gas utility to improve the line pack position all over Sindh, which had badly disturbed due to curtailed gas supply from different gas fields, causing deterioration of line pack position that resulted in low pressure in SSGC’s system. All CNG associations, dealers and gas stations owners are hereby informed that SSGC’s monitoring teams will be strictly checking the stations during this 48 hours closure period. Stations found operative during this period, will have their gas supply suspended for another 24 hours. SSGC realises that while the CNG users were faced with an adverse situation, the company was taking all actions necessary to ensure uninterrupted gas supply at a stable pressure.
