HANGU:

In an apparent case of honour killing, three people were gunned down while another person was injured in Badama area of central Kurram Agency on Thursday.

An official of the political administration said that a dispute occurred between the families of Sher Ali and Zarmat Khan. Zarmat refused to give his daughter in marriage to Ali’s son.

The official said Zarmat’s sudden change of mind enraged Ali who opened fire, killing Zarmat, his brother Khayal Mat Khan and a pedestrian identified as Khan Muhammad on the spot and injured Toti Khan.

The official said that the accused escaped. He added that the refusal had become a matter of honour for Ali according to tribal customs.
