ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court summoned Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the dual nationality case on Thursday, reported Express News.

The court also summoned Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz who had earlier alleged that Sharif is a dual nationality holder.

The apex court is currently hearing cases against lawmakers with dual nationalities and had suspended as many as 11 lawmakers last week, including Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

On Wednesday, the court suspended the National Assembly membership of Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) MNA Shehnaz Sheikh for holding Australian nationality while being a Pakistani national.

@ Lateralthot. Let Dr Ibad deny he doesn't have dual nationality only then it will be proved he does have. If the Chief Minister of a province has been summoned by the supreme court on the dual nationality matter, why not the governor of sind also be summoned to clarify his position.

@ Khan Bhai. Many thanks for reminding this fact. As someone has already said the country is being governed by dual nationality holders who are ruining the country and ready to run away to their foster countries once the country is on the verge of collapse.

The dual nationality, as a matter of fact helps the economy of a country that is on the down side. The dual nationals always have an edge over locals to get foreign funding, investments, technology and marketing of the products of a country. The Economic assistance, IMF funding, export & trade quotas in foreign markets, importing of technology from advance or modern universities, transfer of most current medical & technical equipment & know-how & procedures are here because of dual nationals. The work of Political Action Committees made by Pak Ex-patriots in Powerful Middle Eastern and Western countries actually played an important role in halting the decisions about extreme actions against Pakistan's including UN embargo and outright Iraq/Afghanistan like military action lately. I have seen time and again the hardship & hatred expats faced when ever they came to Pakistan for even voluntary assistance in any fields. The locals did not want to share the power, they had sinister schemes about this or that plan. They outright did not want to work at international standards of hard work, honesty, workmanship, quality, accountability. They hate anyone who knows more than them. They feel threatened by competition and their fear of disclosing the secret of their own incompetency. And so they try to throw all such individuals out. Now they feel smart among the innocent & illiterate public. This is what happens when courts start to pick PM, CM and Government employees or worst venture to settle war and boundary disputes. That is exactly why politicians are educated, trained and elected through public institution of democracy to walk the thin lines and cross the grey areas. Judges will do what judges are made to do__ find the plaintiff and the defendants even if they don't exist. they make one/two for you through their logic and the hammer. To a Judge, there are only two-ways, that is either this or that, black or white, victim and criminal, perfect right or perfect wrong, that is their world, that's it.

People who think the dual nationals have robbed them of their share of bread or power will soon scramble for any bread, water, peace, power at home or in foreign circles in the world beside Pakistan. The country will be run by only Lawyers & Judges and remember; Their job is not to run the economy, agriculture, mining, petroleum, imports, exports, university or colleges, railways, airlines, unions, hiring or jobs, stock market or shares. I just like to ask the honorary judges; what jobs do they public elected officials should have? What do they think of Pak public election & opinions? What concept they have of a viable democracy? Do they think they should leave some jobs for public leaders or they can and will handle all their job? Do they have a concept of the opinion of the Judges of the World or they care less and rather go solo in actions that strongly advised against by other renown International Judges.
