Reasonably priced medicine: Bill on controlling prices in progress

A draft has been finalised taking all the stakeholders onboard.

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of National Regulations and Services (NR&S) is working on the Drug Registration Bill to take action against unregistered pharmaceutical factories and to devise a mechanism for controlling prices of medicines in the country. In this regard a draft has been finalised taking all the stakeholders onboard and considering recommendations of all the departments concerned, officials told APP on Wednesday. The officials said that according to the draft, the number of federal drug inspectors will be increased and at least one inspector will be appointed for each district to keep strict check on the quality and prices of medicines.
