Name change: Iqbal challenges successor’s appointment

ISLAMABAD:

Farkhand Iqbal filed a fresh petition on Wednesday, challenging the appointment of Tahir Shahbaz as the new Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman.

The former CDA chairman withdrew his earlier petition against Javed Iqbal Awan, after his appointment was denotified. Tahir Shahbaz, a grade-21 Pakistan Administrative Services officer, assumed charge as chairman after the Establishment Division issued a notification on Tuesday. Justice Anwar Khan Kasi will take up the petition on Thursday.
