A police officer has landed in trouble for registering a murder case.
In Naushehro Feroze, Phul SHO Wali Muhammad Chang was transferred overnight after he arrested a suspect accused of killing his niece.
Two months ago, Ranjho Khoso had allegedly murdered Ms. Bachul and thrown away the body in the Rohri canal. The married woman had reportedly eloped with Munawar Khoso over three months ago. Her brother-in-law, a former naib nazim of Phul union council, managed to take the woman back to her family.
But declaring the woman ‘kari’, her uncle shot her dead. On Tuesday, the suspect was arrested and the crime weapon seized from him. After he admitted to killing the woman, a case (229/2012) under Sections 302, 311 and 201 was registered against him. The accused was all prepared to fly to Dubai reportedly. The former SHO, Ali Akbar Panhwar, who had allegedly been bribed not to register the murder case of the woman, has replaced SHO Wali Muhammad Chang.
