KARACHI:

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram lectured the national side ahead of the semi-final against Sri Lanka.

The lecture was to give the national side motivation ahead of the crunch match. Akram was part of the 1992 World Cup winning squad and also the captain when Pakistan lost the 1999 World Cup final to Australia at Lord’s.

PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf, who is in Sri Lanka for the World Twenty20, was extremely grateful to Akram for taking time out for the players and hoped that the team would benefit from the advice.

42 yes...but all of his innings are selfish. Even Hafeez plays a lot of selfish innings all the time. Brother the game has changed tremendously...Misbah's strike rate would have been that good in the 90s but not now...even if a team is chasing 300 plus and they have to make 150 in the last 20..they chase it down like a t20 in one days. Umer Akmal should definitely be promoted to at least a one down position. Hammad Azam should be brought in

@Syed Zeeshan Ali:

I Request Mr. Zaka to please replace ODI Captain & Player Misbah ul Haq Before our next Tour. He is to old he cant even score 100 and still a captain

Its not nice to speak against some one if you don't have knowledge about their successes and capabilities. For once people should start judging players by their batting or bowling averages which shows how good they're throughout their career not only in a match here and there. Misbah's ODI batting average is (ave 42.18) better than any current players and is at par with our greats like Javed Miandad (ODI ave 41.70), Saeed Anwar (ave 39.21) and Inzamam ul haq (av 39.52).
