PESHAWAR: A passerby was killed and four policemen injured when militants attacked Matani police station and one of its check posts on Tuesday night.  Police too claimed killing some militants. “Dead bodies are lying in a nearby stream,” DSP Fazale Maula head of the posse that went after the militants told The Express Tribune. The attackers left their dead behind, he said. A large number of militants attacked the police station and its check post on Frontier Road at around 8:30 in the evening with machine guns and rockets. Sub-inspector Bukhari Shah, sub inspector Farid Gul, driver Khalid and another constable whose name could not be confirmed were critically injured in the attack.  The militants used anti tank RPG-7 rockets to destroy a police mobile van and an armoured personnel carrier.
